Srinagar, Nov 23 (KNO): Dr Hadiya Kar, a PG Alumni of Dept.of Psychiatry SKIMS Medical College Srinagar brought laurels to the dept and institution by grabbing Best Paper award at Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsyh) International Addiction Conference at Cardiff, United Kingdom, in November 2024.
As per a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the research work titled ‘Psychiatric comorbidities and concurrent substance use in patients who Inject drugs’ was conducted in Dept of Psychiatry (Now Advanced Centre for Mental Health & Addiction Medicine) , SKIMS Medical College Bemina under the guidance of Dr Abdul Majid, Professor and HOD.
Principal SKIMS MC Prof. Ashraf Ganie congratulated the Dr. Hadiya and Dr. Abdul Majid for the accomplishment said it is an acknowledgement of the work done by the department under the guidance of efficient & experience d faculty and shows the academic excellence of the SKIMS MC. Dr. Hadiya and Dr. Majid said it was overwhelming as it came from SKIMS and was recognised as good work in the said prestigious event.
It is pertinent to mention here that Prof. Abdul Majid was recently given the responsibility of Editor in chief of a reputed “Journal of Geriatric Mental Health” during an event held at the prestigious National Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience NIMHANS Bangalore—(KNO)
